Room costs
The rent is between €428 and €643 per month for a single room, depending on your location and specific room. This includes:
- A rental contract
- Basic furniture and appliances
- Internet access and Wi-Fi
- Electricity, water and heating (Please note that this is an advance payment and your actual consumption will be calculated afterwards.)
These prices are in line with common practice for furnished rooms in the Netherlands. DUWO rooms can be registered at the municipality as a legal place to live.

First payment and signing the tenancy agreement
The first payment consists of:
- The first (or one and a half) month's rent
- The last 2 months rent
- € 17,01 administration costs for your reservation
- € 112,35 for cleaning the room
- € 55 for a bed linen package (mandatory purchase)

The above costs, including the kitchen and bed linen package, are mandatory.
The tenancy agreement must be signed within two weeks of accepting the room otherwise your agreement will be annulled and the room offered to the next person on the waiting list.
After you have signed your tenancy agreement with DUWO, you will receive an e-mail asking you to pay the housing fee to the Royal Academy of Arts.
